| Fencing is a great sport, not only for getting fit, but also for its social life. Unlike many other team sports, this is a one-on-one sport with plenty of time to chat in-between bouts, and have social fun whilst getting fit. | ||

| Check out our facebook page (search “University of Sheffield Fencing Club”) if you want to see some of the crazy stuff we get upto, but to give a few examples, besides chatting in the club, and going to the pub together after fencing sessions, we also do things like clubbing, bar crawls, social meals, days out, overnight stays at other Universities, etc.. | ||

As a sports club, our social life is very important to us. After most sessions and home matches we can be found gossiping over a pint at Nottingham House pub (see maps). We love this pub, not least because they provide us with free food after matches! Other than that, we have a selection of socials organised by our social sec throughout the year, such as bowling, pub lunches, and of course bar / pub crawls, many of which are fancy dress (past themes have included Disney and first-letter-of-your-first-name, both of which were very successful – see the gallery!). Keep checking here to find details of upcoming socials. |
